Deputy Commissioner, KVS RO, Chennai
Greetings to each one of you! Technology redefines more frequently than ever the way we do everything in our day to day lives. These changes are rampant and is rightly called disruptive technologies. The field of education is no exception. In today’s scenario, the digital world is full of lectures, explanations, resources and AI tools act as counselors. A student can write an essay and ask Chat Gpt for honest feedback. Right from career to mental well being, students can seek and find answers to their problems on their mobiles. . A teacher or student with the knowledge of technology is better than the ones without. So to listen to a lecture a student need not go to school. But a collaborative project that teaches team spirit, communication skills and critical thinking skills cannot be done at home. Moreover, schools also train students on socialization, values and to gain emotional well-being. While there are many advantages in digital learning, there’s a major problem. That is concentration. Students tend to watch many videos but don’t end up with deep learning. Hence we need to understand the current situation and learn with concentration in both schools and at Home. Students ought to take notes while listening to lectures. They need to practice all areas thoroughly rather than just watching videos at top speeds. Use classes taken by teachers well and further strengthen their concepts by reading text books thoroughly. It can be further strengthened doing online practice of CB questions. In order to promote student capability, KVS RO Chennai has created a portal named AAROHAN. It has students starting from Classes 3 to 12. This is the best way of providing opportunities for students to practice for doing well in competency based assessment. In this world of many options, we began with yet another Aap, AAROHAN. But it has an overwhelming response from the student community. I appeal to each of you to use this well and practice your critical and creative thinking skills. Also use available time prudently to gain knowledge and skills. You need to be better prepared to ensure your safe future. A journey of a thousand miles start with a single step. Come let us start learning for the next half an hour ! Regards Dr R Senthil Kumar, Deputy Commissioner KVS Regional Office Chennai Region

CHAMPIONS OF TRANSFORMATION.... “ The highest education is that which does not merely give us information, but makes our life in harmony with all existence”- Rabindranath Tagore. The purpose of education is to impart an understanding and awareness of self and Nature. Nature is omnipresent and we constantly witness change in everything and everywhere in its evolutionary process. At present ,mankind has reached an understanding of the scientific process of evolution of universe, understanding of Nature and its intrinsic link with mankind. This is the period when true and holistic education is possible, enabling mankind to understand many secrets of life. As a result of holistic education, everyone’s production and services go to all people of society as everyone enjoys the benefits of labour and technical knowledge of all people of the society. Through holistic education, each person should know himself as completely as possible, i.e. his body, mind, knowledge, consciousness, genetic centre, brain function including the process of storing and releasing all the experiences of life. Education, in the science of living, should begin with the basics: understanding the human physiology, growth and development, the importance of personal hygiene, reproductive health, physical and mental every use, conservation and potential, prevention of disease, healthy eating habits, simple first-aid and self-medication with home remedies. The next level would be learning about the importance and value of one’s relationships- with parents, teachers, friends and fellow beings. The concepts of morality, ethics, duty, honesty, sincerity, kindness and compassion should be imparted. Each person should know how to adjust with others and be prepared to sacrifice his whims and pleasures for the benefit of the group or family so as to avoid conflict and live in harmony. As the ultimate knowledge, one would also know the supreme principle, unified force, universal magnetism and its quality and power which have brought forth and sustain the whole universe and its constant connect to bio- magnetism of every being. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan , being a pace setting and brand established organisation in the field of education ,envisions itself a world class organisation in school education committed to continually empowering teachers to actualise inside out synergy in students and enable them to fulfil futuristic societal, national, global needs and aspirations. Kendriya Vidyalayas are dedicated to continually work on to produce champions of change by bringing out a deep, positive, productive, constructive and innovative impact in the minds of students to develop a peaceful and harmonious society. KV UDUMALPET lives a temple of consciousness that every student understands what it means to be human at all times and in all the ways by incorporating various novel and flagship programmes of KendriyaVidyalayaSangathan UNDER NEP 2020( National Education Policy) and the framework of NEP 2020 NCF- SE 2023 ( National Curriculam Framework- Secondary Education) At Present, the team of KV Udumalpet is in the process of transformation and equipping the students with 21st century skills . The mission of KV UDUMALPET , with a dedicated team, moves towards achieving the vision of creating RESPONSIBLE AND SENSIBLE INDIAN CITIZENS to work towards building ecstatic and fulfilled society.
